Although we are blanketed under 3 feet of snow here in Plymouth and Cape Cod, we have some wonderful news to report from a much warmer region. I just received word from the Center for Coastal Studies that Jooke Robbins, the Humpback Research Coordinator for the Center, is on the winter breeding grounds in the Caribbean doing humpback whale research. She spotted Salt on January 26th and 27th. This is incredible news given that of the thousands of whales to see down there, Jooke saw Salt, one of "our" most beloved and popular whales.

Great news from down south. I just received a report from Jooke Robbins, a researcher with the Center for Coastal Studies, who is currently down in the Caribbean looking for humpback whales while they are on their winter breeding and calving grounds. She says that along with Salt, she has also seen Spoon and Putter (Mars' calf).
